The creation of the MMFD v2.0 was driven by a deep understanding of the challenges faced by funeral plate engravers and a commitment to finding a better way. Having spent years engraving funeral plates and gifts using traditional rotary engravers, we recognised the issues that came with them – the unbearable noise, the dusty aftermath that required noisy vacuuming, and the risk of sometimes scratching delicate coatings on funeral plates. Rotary engravers struggled occasionally with uneven plate surfaces, leading to inconsistency at times and frustration. The cost of sticky mats and engraving tools added to the expenses, and the limitation to 'vector' images hindered creative freedom. Determined to address these challenges, we embarked on a two-year journey to perfect a laser engraver tailored to the needs of funeral directors. The result is a machine that fosters a peaceful, stress-free working environment with its remarkably quiet operation. Its incredible speed multiplies productivity, and its precision minimises material waste. We meticulously sourced the finest components from around the world and fine-tuned our machine specifically for funeral plates. Most importantly, we recognised the potential of a jig for plates, a game-changing innovation that allows funeral directors to effortlessly position plates, input text, and have coffin, casket, and marker plates engraved within minutes – with a coffin plate taking just 56 seconds.
